On Thursday (9/27), Craig B. Smith will discuss his book, Counting the Days: POWS, Internees and Stragglers from WWII in the Pacific, in the Lecture Hall at the Coronado Museum of History & Art. The author will describe six prisoners of war, both Japanese and Allied, their struggles to stay alive, the small daily triumphs that kept them goingand for some, their almost miraculous survival.
Craig Smith is former president of a global engineering, architecture and construction firm that has been involved in many major public works projects, including the renovation of the Pentagon before and after 9/11. He is also the author of How the Great Pyramid Was Built and Extreme Waves. Mr. Smith will be available for a book signing and questions after his lecture.
